Almost every plumbing service in Venice will tell you to use a plunger to unclog your toilet. While this is usually the fastest and easiest approach a person can take, not everybody has a plunger on hand. Here are some of the more creative ways to unclog your toilet for those who don’t have a plunger sitting inside your home.
Use Hot but Not Boiling Water
One of the oldest ways to help loosen up any blockage in a toilet is hot, but not boiling, water. To use this method, fill a pot with some water and heat it for several minutes on the stove. Do not let it boil. Once it’s hot, remove it from the stove and carefully carry it to the bathroom. Slowly pour the water into the toilet. If the water starts draining, you are good to flush it a time or two to help dislodge the rest of the blockage. If it still doesn’t work, you can call Babe’s Plumbing Inc professionals or try a different method.
Try Some Liquid Dish Soap
Another lesser-known tip from a plumbing service in Venice is to use about a one-fourth of a cup of liquid dish soap. Pour this directly into the toilet and allow it to sit in the water for 10 minutes. Then, slowly add hot water to the toilet bowl and allow it to sit for a few minutes. After some time has passed, try flushing the toilet. The dish soap is intended to work as a lubricant.
