Painting a room in your house doesn’t have to be hard work. In fact, it can be very rewarding if you do it the right way. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you embark on your DIY project.

1. Make sure you all the paint sundries you need before you start.

You’ll usually need a good bit of supplies besides the brushes and paint. Examples are blue masking tape, plastic, stirring sticks, and more. Gathering all these quality paint sundries before you start means you won’t have interruptions and you can get your project done in a timely manner and a good mood.

2.Poke holes in the stirrer.

Poking holes in the stirrer helps to mix the paint faster. The holes allow the stirrer to act like a “whisk” when stirring. This means that you can mix faster, stir less, and save those arm muscles for the project.

3.Make sure you remove light switches and outlet covers before you start.

If you don’t remove light switches and outlet covers, you’ll run a high risk of getting paint on them which will mean you’ll have to remove and replace them anyway. You also will have more trouble trying to paint around these covers. Save yourself some frustration and remove them before you start.

Taking small steps to prepare before you paint can make the job a lot easier. The three tips above are great starting points in your preparation. Once you’re all prepped and ready to go, you can knock out painting your room so quickly and efficiently, you’ll seem like a professional whose been at it for years.
