The United States does what it can to help the men and women who volunteer to serve their country in the U.S. military and to give them certain benefits in exchange for their service. There are a few ways in which the U.S. government does this but one of the biggest ways the government has taken action to help protect these service men and service women is through the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, or the SCRA. The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act was put in action in 2003 and was a complete revamping of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act that was put in place in 1940. The act helps to protect those who are in active military duty or who have been in active military duty in the past year, get protection against many civil actions.
